INCREASING ENERGY EFFICIENCY

UAB Akrolita, operating since 1993, has been engaged in and developing stone cutting, splitting, and finishing activities since the company was founded. The main area of activity of the company is the production and sale of granite monuments, their blanks and other granite details, as well as the installation of graves.

The processes carried out at UAB Akrolita use energy resources such as biofuel, electricity, and water. Electricity costs have risen significantly in recent years. These changes have had a major impact on and disrupted the company's production processes and reduced its profitability.

The annual increase in energy consumption and rising energy prices are encouraging the company to assess its energy consumption and opportunities to use energy more efficiently by increasing energy efficiency. Also, taking into account the establishment of global trends in sustainable consumption and environmental friendliness among both competitors and end users, the company is encouraged to seek various measures, technologies, and processes that are environmentally friendly and reduce GHG emissions.

After conducting an energy consumption audit and following the recommendations provided therein, UAB Akrolita is implementing an EU-funded project "Increasing energy efficiency at UAB Akrolita", which plans to implement energy efficiency solutions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the technological process by at least 30%.

Funded under the 2022–2030 Development Program of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Program, the Progress Measure "Encouraging companies to transition to a climate-neutral economy" activity "Increasing energy efficiency in industrial companies" description and the conditions and procedures set out in the Project Administration and Financing Rules.
